U2: fede e fedeli
Da tre decenni, gli U2 scrivono canzoni di fede, speranza e amore. Album come “How to dismantle an atomic bomb” e “No line on the horizon” potrebbero essere considerati come l’apice della fede della rock band irlandese. Basta prendere due canzoni come “Yaweh” oppure “Magnificent” ad esempio, ed analizzarne le parole per capire subito la spiritualità che trasmettono.
“Yawheh”:
“Take these hands/Teach them what to carry/Take these hands/Don’t make a fist/Take this mouth/So quick to criticise/Take this mouth/Give it a kiss”
“Prendi queste mani/insegna loro cosa portare/prendi queste mani/e non farne un pugno/prendi questa bocca/così svelta a criticare/prendi questa bocca/e dalle un bacio”
“Magnificent”:
“Only love, only love can leave such a mark/But only love, only love unites our hearts”
“Solo l’amore, solo l’amore può lasciare un segno/Ma solo l’amore solo l’amore può guarire una cicatrice così grande”.
Dopo aver analizzato i loro testi, proviamo a spostare la nostra attenzione sull’ultimo tour e soprattutto sulla struttura del palco. Il “the Claw”,l’artiglio, così soprannominato, sembra dare quasi l’idea che da un momento all’altro possano essere rapiti e portati verso il cielo.
